Inez and her Jabs

Baby Inez had her: 2nd dose of 6in1 jab, 1st dose of Prevenar jab and 2nd dose of Rotavirus oral medicine on Monday, 25/01/2010..

Brought her for the 4 months old check up at KKH. My PD said Inez was growing very well, she's now the weight of a 6 months old baby! Babies should triple their birth weight at 6 months old but Inez already tripled it at 4 months old.. She's borned 2.43kg and now weight 6.7kg. Well done baobei! *Mauck*

Told PD about Inez poo pattern.. was given the 'kar cheng' bullet to insert if she never poo for more then 4 days. Oh my... Inez has inherited mummy's poo pattern!

Initially, I plan to start solid on Inez when she's about 5 months old but PD suggest me to start when she's 6 months instead. And i'm going to change her FM from Nan HA to either Nan Pro or Friso Gold as Nan HA is far too ex.. Nan HA1 is $44 while Nan Pro 1 is $34...

Ok, back to the room for jabs...

2 shots of jabs is done, on 2 different legs, by 2 different nurse, 2 different styring (of coz la..), but the same time!!

The nurse asked if I wanna let Inez take the jabs separately or together. Meaning, if take separately, she will have to pain 2 times, cry 2 times.. So, of coz I'd rather her to pain 1 time, cry 1 time la..

Pain on her legs, pain in my heart..

1st, Rotavirus oral med was fed to her by a nurse. It's a cold, sweet, white liquid med (according from the nurse) and she show no rejection towards the med... Maybe she really like the sweetness of the med.

After that come the JABS.....

Inez was sitting on my lap, am holding her very still.. but my poor baby still doesn't know what happen or what is going to happen. She must be thinking why is there so many nurses surrounding her, playing with her, waving all the ding dong bell aka noisy toys at her.. Innocent Inez smiled and play back with the nurses and while the 2 nurses who's holding 1 styring each counting down 1, (am already closing my eyes), 2, 3....

Wail~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here comes Inez cries/screams.. Pressing onto her 2 jabs area for a minute, mother in law carried her away, coaxing her THEN SHE FALL ASLEEP within minutes!!!

Once home, I applied cold compress onto the jab area for a few minutes to prevent it from swelling. Evening time came and Inez was screaming when i curdle her. I took off her pants and saw the jab area was so red and swelling. She will just cry and scream even if I just touch her softly.

Goosh~~ I quickly took the Fever patch from the fridge and stick onto it and coax her back to sleep. That patch really works as it bring down the swelling and redness. Usually after jabs babies will tends to get fever so am monitoring her thruout the night.

I'm lucky so far Inez was fever-free for the jabs that she had taken.. Is this becoz of the benefit of breastfeeding? Or just becoz not all babies will get fever after the jabs? Whichever the reason is, just hope that Inez will continue to be fever-free for the rest of the jabs. *finger cross* X
