Inez is 3kg!

Brought baby Inez to KK for the jaundice check up yesterday. Blood was taken from her little hand for the liver test, didn't dare to look when the nurse prick her little hand with the needle (the needle is almost the same thickness as baby's vein!), I left the room while hubby was inside with baby. Within seconds, Inez cries was loud~~~

Went back into the room to carry baby, her face was as red as a lobster and there's tears around her eyes *heart pain*. Waited 2 hours for the result and her liver function is normal, no need to go for checks anymore!

Also, baby Inez weight 3kg already! And, I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, 45kg!!! Hohoho~~~~

Little updates...

It has been a long time since I last update my blog. My 'die-hard' fan (she know who she is!!) neck should be as long as a giraffe already.

Ok, just a little update of what I had done...

1) Still doing my confinement... another 11 days to go. Almost everyday, the girls will receive my 'ranting' sms... *Just let me throw at you girls ok? Lian and Mei, you will have turn to throw back to me*

2) Fall sick (again) during the 2nd week of my confinement... Down with fever, runny nose and cough. Lack of sleep? Didn't eat well?? The girls know why...

3) Had completed my 7 days post natal massage from Babies Bellies, at least a little time for me to relax during the massage.

4) Preparation for baby's full month is almost done. Date will be on the 17th Oct, Saturday. Venue is Mainland Tropical Fish Farm. Buffets and cakes already ordered, still waiting for SIL to get the banner done.

5) Birth registration, baby bonus and CDA account also done, just waiting for the government reply back on the CDA account.

6) Still struggling to breast feed but things start to get better compare the first 2 weeks..

That's just some update of myself.

Here's little update of baby.

1) Name of baby is Lam Jia Xuan Inez

2) Baby weight 2.430kg at birth. 3 days later, brought her to polyclinic for check up, she's weight 2.530kg. 100gm within 3 days :) Another check up on day 14 of her life, she's weight 2.850kg and again 2.970kg 2 days later...

3) Got to bring baby back to KK for jaundice check up tomorrow as checks from polyclinic shows that baby jaundice is still on high level even after day 14, so it's better to refer back to hospital. Hope everything fine.

4) Baby Inez never fail to be on time for her feeds... she's just like an alarm clock. The only difference is that, we no need to set the timing.

Ok, end of the updates... need to go bathe and wash hair already (yesh yesh~~)

Another update will mostly be after full month celebration.

The Big Day

The Arrival Of My 2nd Princess

Scheduled to be induced on Sunday 20/09/2009 6am at KKH.

6.30am - Reached KKH, lead into delivery room and changed into delivery gown.
6.45am - Antibiotic Drip for GBS and the Induce Drip to start contraction.
6.50am - Doc KT Tan came to broke my water bag and checked on dilation, still 3cm.
7.15am - Contractions kick in every 2 minutes, trying to endure.
7.40am - The pain is getting unbearable and the nurse suggested me to get take Epidural as the pain will get worst as they gonna increase the drip.
8.00am - The anaesthesia came and explained the side effects of taking epidural and I signed the consent form. Sitting very still, the jab was inserted into my spine. All I felt is the electric shock as the med went down my spine. Within minutes, I felt numbs on my lower body. The epidural is taking it effect as I start to shiver and itch (a common side effect of the epidural).
*During this time, the next delivery room lady was screaming and it's scaring the hell out of me!*
8.30am - The nurse came to check on me, 4cm dilated. Still got 6cm to go~~~
9.30am - Starting to feel pain again and I can feel like the baby is pushing down to my pelvis bone as well as the feeling of pooing whenever the contraction kick in. I called for the nurse and she checked again, 5cm dilated. She asked the anaesthesia to come and check on my epidural.
10.00am - Anaesthesia came and increased my epidural dosage. It takes about 15mins for the epidural to take the effects.
10.30am - Nurse came to check again, fully dilated! 10cm!! Oh my god~~ If only I know that it will dilate so fast, I would have endure the pain and won't want to increase the dosage!! Doc Tan came at the same time and was surprised that my 1st stage of labor is faster then she expected. I'm being asked to push whenever there's contraction but I can't as there's no feeling so Doc Tan switched off my epidural! :(
11.00am - After trying to pushed for a good half hour, Doc Tan decided to let me rest as my pushing is not good and it will only waste my energy if I continue to push.
11.30am - Doc Tan together with a midwife and a staff nurse came to help me with the pushing again. This time I can feel a little of the contraction. While pushing, the midwife put her hands onto my tummy and she tried to help me by pushing my tummy (I got muscle ache around my tummy area after that!). Doc Tan and nurses keep telling me: Just take 1 deep breathe and 1 long push and your baby is out! Within minutes, I saw Doc Tan use the scissor and 'snap' me and the next thing I know was MY BABY IS OUT!!

After that Doc Tan continue with the delivery of my placenta, asked if I want to keep it! Then start pressing my tummy to drained out my excess blood and also 'sew' me back...

While me just lied there flat, energy-less and watching hubby take photos of baby and mms our friends...

That's the delivery process of my 2nd princess.

Final Countdown

Pregnancy Gesture Week 38

The final countdown is here. Just another 13 hours more at 6am I'll be in KKH to get the Prostin for induction delivery.

This morning Doc Tan said baby's weight is about 2.3kg and it would be better for me to induce baby out as I was tested positive for GBS while pregnant with Fayth 4 years back so this time I also need to have the antibiotic drip before I go into labor. Afraid that there won't be enough time for me to take the drip if I will reject the induction and choose to wait for everything to happen 'naturally' at home.

I am so excited and scare~~ Hopefully it will be a fast delivery and still considering about epidural but doubt that I can do without it.

Ok guys, update again after my delivery with my new baby beside me.

The Green Light

Went for my another weekly check up yesterday.. and after all the necessary checks...

Doc Tan: So, you're finally full term 37 weeks + 2 days.
Me: Yup! :D
Doc Tan: You want to deliver already or still want to wait?
Me: *shock* Huh? Can deliver already??
Doc Tan: Yes, you're 2cm dilated and full term so you can choose to deliver.
Me: But can still wait? I'm quite worry about the baby weight if deliver now.
Doc Tan: You can still wait 1 more week, you baby never grow inside your womb, it's better to deliver her and let her gain nutrition externally.
Me: Huh... same situation as my 1st child...
Doc Tan: *Flipping through my records* Yes. So we let baby stay inside the womb till 38 weeks. Let her mature abit more then induce her out ok?
Me: If this way is better for her then ok lor...
Doc Tan: Ok, so you come in this Sunday to Delivery Suite at 6am to get the Prostin. You want epidural again or can't decide now?
Me: I will want to TRY enduring without it...
Doc Tan: Labor is not about pain enduring test.
Me: Ermm.. Will decide when the time comes..
Doc Tan: Ok, I will see you this Sunday morning.
Me: Ok, thank you Doc Tan. Bye...

Gosh~~ 5 more days to my delivery and... induce again!!!

Scare scare scare...............

Premier Package at KKH

Went for my weekly check up yesterday and done the Estimated Fetal Scanning, current baby weight is 2.177 kg and I'm 2 cm dilated. 3 more days to full term 37 weeks and if baby were to born after this Saturday, she will not be consider a premature baby already. Hang on baby girl!

Also signed the Premier Package at KKH. Due to my chosen gynae will deliver my baby for me and no other doctors are allow to be inside my delivery room, I can only chose either an A1 or B1 class ward. So, I've chosen B1 4 bedded as it's only a 2 days stay in hospital so there's no need to spend extra $1000 just to let hubby stay with me.

Deposit $1278, medisave claimable is $2100 and the admission assistant lady told me that about 10% of the patients need to top up after the final bill so hopefully I'm 1 of the 90% patients.

This is the additional charges (based on usage) which is NOT included in my $3378 package.

  1. Delivery Suite Facility Charge (After 8 hours from package) - 41 cents per minute
  2. Epidural (Anaesthetist Fee Only, drug charge separately) - $315~$440
  3. Instrument Delivery - $164
  4. Induction of Labour (1 prostin pessary) - $81 (I used 2 when delivered Fayth!)
  5. Daily Ward Charge + treatment fee (After 2 days) - $169 + $62
  6. Any other services - 'B1' rate

I hope I will deliver within 8 hrs upon checking into the delivery room. I hope I can do it without epidural this time. I hope I don't need to be induce also... If all the 'I hope I can ...' make it, then I'll fall into the 90% range of those patients that don't need to top up extra cash...

*Heehee*

Pregnancy Gesture Week 36 + 1 day

Last Friday, I had a shock... I saw what I think should be the 'show' or some call it 'mucus'. One of the symptoms of early labor, a brownish discharge with some straws of blood. Was in office during that time and my mind went totally blank as it's my 1st time experience this.

I'm just like a 1st time mummy because I was induced during my 1st pregnancy so I won't know how water bag burst feel like, what is the different between Braxton Hicks contraction and real contraction and how does 'show' or 'mucus' look like. Whatever I got it now, I will go asked around then my friends will tell me what to do or what to expect next...

Once again, I'm a blur mummy...

Hubby came to office and fetch me home, not to KKH as I wanted to bathe and wash my hair in case I really need to be deliver that very day...

After that good shower, I lay on my bed thinking should I just stay home to monitor the staining or just head to hospital??? Earlier on, in the office, I called up KKH and asked for advise. Was told to go hospital asap because I'm already 1 cm dilated as per informed by my gynae on Monday so my cervix might have dilated further without I even notice it.

Ended up I decided to monitor the staining at home and wait for other symptom such as water bag burst or contraction before I decided to take my bag and head to hospital.

Well today, my pregnancy gesture is 36 weeks and 1 day. Staining has since stopped and baby is still inside her comfort zone while I'm still enjoying those wonderful movements of her playing inside. Just 6 more days to full term 37 weeks...

Till then, baby endure while mummy counting down.

1cm dilated at 35 weeks

Went for my 35 weeks check up yesterday. Told Doc Tan my braxton hicks contractions is getting more frequent and accompanied with some pain whenever my tummy tightens..

Doc Tan did a check and found out that my cervix is already 1 cm dilated. Gosh~~ meaning I might be delivering anytime early. She gave me womb relaxant medicine to stop the contraction and hope baby could wait for at least 11 days more to full term 37 weeks.

As what Jo had said yesterday... 1st baby time up already still enjoying inside, doesn't want to come out and ended up I needed to be induced.. Now, 2nd baby time haven't up so anxious to come out.. Maybe that's why I need to buy few more canes to hang around the house and rooms.
Not forgetting, I've gained 2 kg in 2 weeks (tumb up). Currently I'm now 51.5 kg while baby is 2.2kg~~

Baby... be good girl ok? Wait till at least 11 days more...
