11/06/09, Alot of places

On leave Day 2: 11/06/09, Thursday. Gallop Stable @ Pasir Ris Green, Downtown East, Pasir Ris Farmway Kids Kampung.

We didn't went out too early on Day 2 (coz exhausted from Day 1 trip!). Brought Fayth to Gallop Stable, she is happily feeding the pony and horses.

Gallop Stable is actually quite a small place with nothing much to see except for horses so we only stayed there for about 45mins. Next, we went to Kids Explorer @ Downtown East. Wanted to let Fayth have fun in the indoor playground but they charged too expensive. $22 for the 1st hour and subsequently $6/hour. If my maid were to accompany Fayth inside, got to pay additional $1.50 AND you will need to wear socks inside the playground which cost another $2/person. So, in total we will need to pay nearly $30 for 1 hour of fun inside the indoor playground!!! End up we brought Fayth to ride on the Ferries Wheels which 2 rounds cost $15.50 for family of 3 pax.

Also brought Fayth to 2 mini rides at the Downtown East chalet entrance. Fayth wanted to ride on this Horse carriage so I accompany her which made me nearly fainted after the few rounds of turning and turning....

Fayth was afraid of seating alone in the mini train ride so, again I had to accompany her and I really got problem getting in and out of the train because of my 'not-so-big, not-so-small' stomach.

After spending about 2 hours at Downtown East, we went to Kids Kampung at the Pasir Ris Farmway 1. Inside there, Fayth got to feed the goose, ducks, rabbits and fishes.

I'm afraid that the goose will 'poke' my hand if I feed it directly with my hand but I still tried feeding it! Bravo Sharon~~~ Hahaha
Never seen such a hungry Koi fishes before.....
Fayth and Hb fishing
Finally caught a fish but we are not allow to bring this fish back, in exchanged, they gave us 1 fighting fish to bring home.
After a tired day of playing, we went to Tampines Century Square Sakae Sushi for dinner then Home Sweet Home at 9pm.

10/06/09, Zoo Trip with Fayth, Daddy and Hb

Since my mil, fil and sil went to Taiwan for holiday, Hubby and me got to take leave to look after Fayth as we won't leave her alone with maid at home (you won't know if anything will happen!)

So, our leaves starts on 10/06/09 Wednesday to 16/06/09 Tuesday and here's our own family outings in Singapore.

On leave Day 1: 10/06/09, Wednesday. Zoo Trip

Met up with daddy for an early lunch at Redhill market and then head off to the Zoo. (Fayth has been making alot of noise since 8am in the morning asking us faster go bathe and bring her to the zoo!)

At the Zoo entrance, photo takings with the parrots.

In the Tram ride to the newly open Kids Rain Forest.

A small little 'Kampung' in the Kids Rain Forest where we get to see those kampung house in the olden days. The below photo is a real little chicks and the eggs been hatch.

Pony ride for Fayth, $6 for just 1 small round of ride (approx 1min)

After the pony ride, we went to the Water play area where Fayth enjoyed the most! HB and Fayth having a great time splashing water at each other while me and my daddy enjoyed Ben and Jerry's Ice-cream under the hot sun while watching them played.

Played at the water area for about 2 hours then watch the sea lion performance.

Before we end our journey in the Zoo at 5.30pm, they had a ride with the elephant. 1 adult cost $8 but lucky kids was free.

After the Zoo trip, we went to 1 of the Restaurant outlet at Turf City which Hb was in charge of for our dinner then Home Sweet Home at 10pm.

Fayth, unborn and I

There is one word that I hate to use during pregnancy - insomnia and I can't accept the fact that I'm currently suffering from it.

It's not that I can't fall asleep, I can and I will always be in bed by 10pm and as usual I will sure wake up in the night for those pee trips. Noticed recently after all those trips, I had difficulties going back into Lalaland to flirt with Mr Zzz. I will be tossing and turning left and right for a good 1 hour or sometimes 2 hours!

Reason of me suffering from insomnia? My little unborn inside me! I really start to wonder do she really sleep inside me??? Whenever I'm awake for the Pee Trip, she is sure to be either practising her kungfu or somersaulting.

I accommodated her by sleeping on my sides so she will have enough space in the womb for those kicks and pokes but seems like no matter which side I turned to, she's still did not satisfy! She will then start tickling and rubbing towards my skin as if I'm pressing onto her which made me feel itchy and uncomfortable. In the end, I surrendered and let her have her ways while my eyes open big like a gold fish.

Last night, Fayth and I fall asleep at 10pm after chatting with each other for a good 30mins (she's a chatterbox!). Fayth is having cough and runny nose recently (which got worst yesterday morning), and it's a mother instint to feel her forehead to see if she's down with a fever or not and at 2am, she's having a fever at 37.7 degree so I woke her up to take medicines and as usual went for my Pee Trip.

Pampered her back to sleep at around 2.30am, with my eyes closing and slowly drifting into my Lalaland, the kungfu and somersaulting start! In the end, I've been turning around till 4am. I checked on Fayth's temperature again and finally able to fall asleep back.

Hopefully when baby is born, she will be fast to develop a proper sleeping routine!

Something useful that 2nd time mum shld know!

**It's a long winded post as It's only suitable and useful knowledge's for 2nd time mummies.**

We may be bursting to share the good news, but a youngster who's about to be "replaced" by a baby, as he sees it, may be less than thrilled.

# DO tell your child about the pregnancy, and definitely break the news before he hears about it from someone else.

# DO both tell him you love him.

# DO make him feel special.

# DO help him become more independent in feeding, toileting and other daily needs.

# DO organize things for the labour and birth. a trustworthy person he knows will need to look after him, and he'll have to know what the arrangement is well in advance of that time.

x DON'T tell him too soon - nine months is an eternity to a young child. the younger your child, the less likely he is to notice your bump, so the longer you can wait.

x DON'T tell him you're having another baby to please him, for him to play with or because he's such a good boy. it's not true, and he'll only blame himself if things go wrong.

x DON'T tell him he needs to be big and help you with the new baby. being big may be the last thing on his mind - when the baby is born, he will probably prefer to be small again.

x DON'T plan to toilet train him, start him at playgroup, swap bedrooms or move him from his cot just before the baby arrives. he will have enough changes to cope with after the birth

.x DON'T burden him with the side-effects of pregnancy or how tired you are. he'll be upset for you, may feel guilty and could be more likely to resent the new baby.

AFTER THE BIRTH -

If you're going to be in hospital for several days try to arrange for your child to visit you and the baby as soon as possible after the delivery.

When your toddler visits, have eyes only for him. Ideally, the baby should be asleep in the bedside cot. Make a fuss of your toddler until he asks about the new baby. Only then show him his sister, but not paying too much attention to her. Make his visit short so that you can attend to your baby once he's gone.

Bringing the baby home Try to help your toddler to feel secure and bond with the new baby.

- When you greet him, make sure someone else holds the baby so that you are free to cuddle him.

- For the first few minutes give him all your attention.

- Give your child a present from the new baby, something that he has really been looking forward to.

- In the first few weeks set aside some times when the two of you can be together without any interruptions.

Involve your child in the new baby's bath times, changing, and feeding times. Get him to fetch and carry and intimate your loving sounds with lots of ahhs and ooohs and words like "softly", "gently". Describe everything that your new baby is doing so that he can get to know her and relate to her.

- A newborn baby has a well-developed grasp reflex. Put one of your child's fingers into her hand - she''ll grasp on to it very tightly and he'll interpret this as love from his newborn sister.
